YouWave, a once-popular option, seems to have been discontinued. It has been quite some time since the site went down, so we assume development has ceased. However, the website appears to be down as of the time of this writing. KoPlayer was an outstanding Android emulator for gamers. However, it is no longer actively updated, so we removed it from the list. Droid4x used to be one of the best options, and its later builds are still available. If the developers ever clean up their act, we’ll put it back on the list. Andy OS used to be very good, so this one is disappointing. Even the official website throws security errors when accessed in a clean browser. Andy began using some seriously not great development tactics, including suspected crypto mining without user permission. You can still try it out, but you have to browse the official subreddit for download links. AMIDuOS closed its doors officially on March 7th, 2018. Leapdroid was purchased by Google and no longer operates. By December 2017, it was reported that Microsoft Launcher had reached 10 million downloads through Google Play.Former entrants on the list and what happened to them: On October 5, 2017, Microsoft Launcher for Android was released through the Google Play store, along with a preview of the mobile version of the Microsoft Edge browser. The launcher itself is based on the Fluent design language as part of Microsoft's strategy to bring Windows 10 PC users closer to their mobile devices running Android or iOS, especially since the Windows Phone platform had been discontinued. It was however out of beta by Octoof the same year, afterwards the project sat later abandoned until it was re-released as Microsoft Launcher for Android on October 5, 2017. The Arrow Launcher project originated from Microsoft Garage and became available as a beta on July 28, 2015. It does not replace the stock Android operating system, but adds a streamlined graphical layer with a focus on Microsoft applications and services.
